Shooting the "Outback" *

To bring The Outback Collection to life, I wanted the photography to connect directly to the inspiration behind the collection.

One of the graphics featured Mt. Cowles, so it made sense to head there for the shoot. That meant getting the Overload team and extended family together for a sunrise hike up the mountain to find the right spot. The collection was built around warm tones, with earthy tees and accessories, and I wanted that early morning sun to do its thing and bring those colours to life.

The goal was to create a set of images that felt connected to the collection rather than simply shooting product photos. Between the sunrise portraits, the landscape and the skating, I wanted the campaign to feel like a little world of its own — something that could carry across the website, social content and the collection launch.

Huge shout-out to everyone involved. Anyone willing to wake up before sunrise and hike up a mountain for a clothing shoot is a legend in my book.

Of course, we also had to get some skating in. We headed to a quiet little spot near the zoo, threw everyone in the gear, and Brendan got busy on a non-spot spot.

I'm really happy with how the whole shoot came together. I may have gone a little overboard when it came to the amount of content I shot and shared — probably more photos than were strictly necessary — but I liked them, so I used them.
